Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to your information when you sign up on the SwimSheet™ website (swimsheet.app). It covers the website only, not the SwimSheet™ app itself, which keeps your data on your own device.
Who we are
The SwimSheet™ website is run by Uphill Digital LLC ("we," "us"). If you have any question about your information, email privacy@swimsheet.app.
What we collect
Two separate things, which are never connected to each other:
- Your email address, if you choose to sign up, along with a record that you agreed to hear from us. We don't ask for your name.
- Anonymous visit counts, described in the next section. These are totals, not records about you, and they are not linked to your email address or to anything else that identifies you.
What we count when you visit
We use a service called GoatCounter to count visits to this website. We do this for one reason: to learn how many people find SwimSheet™ and which links bring them here, so we know where to spend our effort.
Here is exactly what gets recorded:
- Which page was viewed, and when
- The website or link you arrived from, including any tag we added to a link we shared
- The name of your browser and operating system
- Your country, and for visitors in the United States, the state
- The size of your screen
And here is exactly what does not happen:
- Our counter places no cookies on your device
- No record of your individual visit is stored, only running totals
- Your IP address is not stored. It is used momentarily to work out your country and to avoid counting the same visit twice within eight hours, then discarded
- You are not identified, and you are not followed to or from any other website
- None of this is sold, shared for marketing, or connected to your email address
If you use an ad blocker, it very likely blocks our counter already. That's fine by us — we would rather undercount than argue with your browser.
Why we collect it
To let you know when SwimSheet™ is ready and to send you occasional updates about it. Nothing else.
When you sign up
After you enter your email, we send a confirmation email with a link. You're only added to our list once you click it. This confirms the address is really yours.
Our promise
We will never sell, rent, or trade your email address, and we will never hand it to anyone else for their own marketing.
Who helps us
Two companies help us run this site, and no others.
EmailOctopus stores our mailing list and sends our emails. Your address is kept on their systems so we can email you. Their signup form runs a small script on our page and may place cookies in your browser to make the form work. You can read how they handle data in their own privacy policy at emailoctopus.com.
GoatCounter counts visits, as described above. It runs a small script on our page, sets no cookies, and stores no personal data. You can read their privacy policy at goatcounter.com.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe anytime. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.
- See or delete your data. Email privacy@swimsheet.app and we'll show you what we have or delete it, usually within 30 days.
- These rights apply to everyone, including under the EU's GDPR and California's CCPA.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.
Children
The website isn't aimed at children, and we don't knowingly collect email addresses from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything here, we'll post the new version on this page with a new date at the top.
